Sometimes You Need Something More.

My husband found this abandoned little guy.  Meet Norbert.  I was going to call him Big Balls.  My husband gave me that look.😂  I was kidding of course.

We watched for mom in our carriage house.  She never showed.  We have cameras up all over the place.  There was no nest that we could find.

With eyes still closed I got to making a concoction of Heavy whip-cream.  I have that in my coffee, so I had it.  Added some salt warm water and honey.  It said to use sugar but honey is best.  Got its electrolytes up.  Noticed he looked around 3 to 4 weeks old.

The next day he had his eyes open.  Well I was wrong.  See I admit it!  He was actually 5 weeks.  Now I'm weaning him off the formula.  He has some teeth coming in.  Norbert lets me know when it's time to eat, so that is how I know.  A cute little nibble on my finger.  Such a sweet thing!

Such an active little guy!  Like every proud parent of a critter, you spoil them rotten.  I got one day shipping, toys, cage, exotic food for all age small squirrel, flying squirrel, chinchilla...  Norbert is a fox squirrel here in Florida.  I have seen flying squirrels though.

I looked on line to find out, that if I was in Washington State, "which I have in the past did a rescue there too."  I could face charges and fines.  That is the demonic state of loons for you!  Don't tell anyone, but I also enjoyed raccoons hanging around in the yard.  We even had two bobcats, owls that joined us on our deck while having dinner.  It knows I feed everyone.  Plus they took care of the rats/mice.  We had that, because we lived near water.  Lake Washington was near by.  Rats love water area's.  All wild life does actually.  Coyotes included.

This is my spoiled little squirrel with a wonderful life now.  Here is Norbert in his hammock.  He has two.  Only the best!

Tomorrow will be Ten Years since we lost our best friend and companion.  Even though she loved chasing squirrels, I know she felt I needed a project to do.  Till we meet again!
