Obama Pollster Wants Media To Stop Reporting Polls In 2014 |
Awww ... With President Obama's ratings in the crapper and the mid-term elections next year, guess what his pollster's New Year's wish for the media is next year? According to Politico, it's not reporting polls. That's right, President Obama's official pollster is getting sick and tired of all those polls showing his boss's approval ratings in the tank and would like the media to stop reporting it. Here's Joel Benenson's direct quote: "Go one year without reporting any public polling data. Rationale: Most public polling continues to be reported on strictly from a topline, horserace-type perspective that does nothing, or at best very little, to illuminate the news of the day. ALTERNATIVE IF THIS IS TOO STRICT: Go one year without reporting... |

Melissa Harris Perry: Hey, I'm Really Sorry About That Racist Segment On Mitt Romney's Black Grandson |
Melissa Harris Perry decided to end the year by doing the right thing. By now, the whole world knows about her segment on MSNBC (where else?) during which she and her echo chamber panel goofed on the fact that former Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney has an adopted African American grandson. You'd think that people who are self-described "progressives" might applaud the Romneys for adopting and caring for a minority infant. Not too many white families, especially rich white families, are willing to do that. Hey, we wonder if Chelsea Clinton and her rich husband are willing to adopt an African American baby? The story is even more precious because, until relatively recently, African Americans couldn't even become Mormons. Recall that the Romneys... |

Dems Take A Hit In Montana |
Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT), one of the so-called ObamaCare architects, is retiring. We think that he would rather go out politely than face angry voters and explain his attempts to sabotage American health care. Since Montana is a state that is typically about as red as a stop sign, we would think that his seat would easily go to a Republican. Indeed, the Republican eyeing that seat, Rep. Steve Daines, is ahead of his Democratic challenger, Lt. Gov. John Walsh, by 17 points. However, Dems were hoping to shrink that lead by appointing Walsh to fill out Baucus' term. The thinking there is that he would be a more viable candidate if he was running as an incumbent. But it appears that... |

Unsurprisingly, NBC's Chief Medical Editor Made Her Kids Sign Up For ObamaCare As Their 'Patriotic Duty' |
Dr. Nancy Snyderman is the Chief Medical Editor for NBC News. Keep the "NBC News" part in mind and everything else you're about to read might just make sense. Might. She appeared on Morning Joe today to discuss ObamaCare. She probably warmed the hearts of all 13 viewers of that show by advocating the need for a single payer system. Yeah. Because single payer works so well in the UK. But the real fun comes towards the end of the segment. That's when she says that she made her kids sign up for ObamaCare, telling them that it was "their patriotic duty." Of course. To an NBC News editor, being part of a program that challenges free market economics is patriotism. We also love... |

TSA Agent Harasses Actress for Having a Knockoff Purse |
In its vigorous effort to protect national security, one TSA agent went where few would dare go. He or she dared challenge a woman's style preferences. Only this wasn't just a mean-spirited comment...it apparently came with the threat of arrest. According to The Age, Australian actress Rebel Wilson wasalmost arrested after a TSA agent claimed she had a knockoff purse. She claims she was lectured about how it is bad to buy a fake, although she maintains the purse is real. Also, Wilson alleges she was lectured about not arguing with the TSA. That's right, be a good little girl and do as the incompetent, rude federal agent tells you. Regardless, even if she was carrying a fake, why was... |

Global Warming Scientists Trapped By Inconvenient Ice |
By now, we've all seen the images of the trapped Russian ship in the Antarctic. It's trapped in sea-ice and so far, attempts to rescue the 70-or-so passengers have been unsuccessful. A Chinese icebreaker ship was sent to rescue the passengers but it also got stuck in the 13-foot ice. Most media are calling it a "tourist" ship, but in fact, it's a research vessel studying global warming. Perhaps this careful emission is to protect themselves from the bitter irony that a ship studying global warming is stuck in record-thick ice. Since global warming seems to be on a hiatus, it's getting harder and harder for the mainstream media to hide the inconvenient truth. The leader of the expedition is... |

Woman Shot By Husband Who Received Firearm as a Gift |
I am pro-2nd Amendment. I believe everything it stands for and love to go target shooting with my dad. I believe it is the American way to go out and hunt with a license. Anyone who has a clean record should be able to own a gun. But there are exceptions; like this guy. A woman in Mount Lake Terrace, Washington was accidentally shot by her husband as he played with the gun she gave him as a gift. He obviously didn't follow rule #1 of handling a gun inside your home: "Never Aim it At Somebody." The woman's injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to The Everett Herald. But oh em gee people, why on Earth would you point it... |

April Todd-Malmlov Resigns from MNsure |
I brought you the story yesterday of how April Todd-Malmlov took a two-week break to Costa Rica, and it led to her resignation today. There was a closed emergency session with the board of directors, and she resigned right then and there. It turns out that she was with Jim Golden during her trip, and this also raised concerns. Jim Golden is Minnesota's Medicaid Director. It just goes to show that these liberals don't really care about the needs of health care recipients. She was taking her vacation while people were trying to use the MNsure website to buy health insurance. It had a rocky roll out filled with glitches and other problems, so this made her trip... |

Reality TV Star Shares How Her Abortion is Her Biggest Regret in Life |
Patti Stanger is well known for helping people fall in love, and her TV show 'Millionaire Matchmaker' is a huge hit. It airs on the BRAVO network. But even though Patti is well versed in helping two people fall in love, doesn't mean her life isn't free of past regrets. She sat down with OK! magazine and talked about her abortion during a Twitter Q&A session, and how she regrets the decision to this day. "My biggest regret is I didn't have children and I had an abortion in my 20s," Stanger, the star of Bravo's "Millionaire Matchmaker," said in response to a question. "I was pregnant and I didn't have enough money and I didn't think it was OK to... |

The Perks Of Government 'Service:' Top CMS ObamaCare Official Quietly 'Retires,' Enrollment Levels Still Low |
Have you been happy with the ObamaCare roll out? I think its a fair statement to say that very few people are, regardless of whether they are a friend or foe of Obama and the healthcare law itself. One of the key agencies responsible for getting ObamaCare rolling is the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS. Now, we see that a second top official at CMS has left since the roll out of the Affordable Care Act.
Michelle Snyder was responsible for setting up new programs and activities required by the ACA. She has now decided to quietly retire and not continue her outstanding performance. It seems that these days, federal bureaucrats do not get fired...

Holding Their Feet to the Fire: ACLU sues for details of surveillance |
There are a number of reasons that I won't go into now why I've never been a fan of the American Civil Liberties Union. However, there are times when they set their sights on an issue of grave importance to the rights and freedom of all Americans. Resistance to sweeping government surveillance and holding government officials accountable is one of them.
(Reuters) --The American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit Monday seeking to force the U.S. government to disclose details of its foreign electronic surveillance program and what protections it provides to Americans whose communications are swept up. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in New York, came three days after the ACLU lost a bid to block a...

Elections 2014: Illinois Tosses Gov Election Hats into Ballot Ring |
Illinois incumbent Pat Quinn, Democrat, is one of the office holders officially 'at risk' of losing governorship in November 2014. He was floated up to the office from his Lieutenant Governor position after Rod Blagojevich was impeached for impropriety. Downtrend won't repeat the information on Quinn's vulnerability, so let's continue with the candidate roll for Democrats, Republicans and other parties, if any. To date, the only other declared Democrat for office is Tio Hardiman. The Democratic ticket, though, fields five declared candidates so far. Bill Brady is a State Senator. Ditto, Kirk Dillard. Dan Rutherford is the State Treasurer. Peter Edward Jones and Bruce Rauner complete the current list. Chad Grimm... |
