We aren't buying bottled water. We are using zip locks "gal." size. Put them in the freezers to help your food if power goes out. We have filtered water. It's really quite good! Also we have a room with no windows "Huge" bathroom with two sinks. I will put a few of those bags for drinking in both sinks.
We have these wonderful buckets from home depot. Those will be used with a container to flush the toilet. In the linen closet there is a shelf all clear for food and we have blankets. It is also a huge closet. I have a bag of carrots, hard boiled eggs, bread cheese with other goodies in a freezer pack. That all fits on the floor of the linen closet. This house has 3 huge linen closets, one being in the master bathroom. Also it's not a manufactured home. Did I do my homework before moving? You bet your sweet ass I have!
Now also tornadoes will be a factor in the path. This house is build with cinderblock. Our carriage house is made of steel beams. They build things to be hurricane appropriate. Maybe not the homes built in the 60's, or manufactured homes. We shall find out! Ready to help others. Gotta put the o2 on us first, then the others.
We are also near a drainage area and land was set aside for runoff of water. Being up a little over 100ft in elevation helps.
