It's Swim Time In North Florida!

 Yes, I shut the world out of my existence today!  I needed to!  The water was fabulous!  I got some work done and then went swimming!  It was 79 degrees and the pool was at 82.2.  Perfect!  The three fountains on the pool shut off late this afternoon.  I decided to go for it!  

Trump is wining, so far in many states and he is more popular than he was in 2015 and in 2020!  But he still won that election in 2020 because, he was even more in need to be our president.  People that didn't vote for him for 2016 did for 2020!  I'm proud to report, hubby and I will be voting for him the third time!  

The reason why they were all shocked he won that first time, is that they underestimated his popularity.  They thought no one is paying attention to him, because he wasn't a politician.  People were paying attention to this shit government!  How nothing was getting done for the people.  They were only serving themselves!

Well so it was a rainy day!  At least I did something other than a puzzle.  I painted! 

I also make a map in my book on what is planted where.  This just adds a little cuteness.  I got my oil paints out and got artistic.  Better than those stupid little tags that get buried and the lettering wears off.

I need to make more sometime.  I also have a garlic patch that I will be  harvesting in June.  I should have taken more time with these but I wanted it done.  The paint fumes were getting to me.  I used to do oil.  It's messy.  I don't do messy very well.  God knows I try!

A Gardening Kind Of Day!

 This harvest will go very well with my homemade lasagna!  

I got a head of lettuce, that is now washed and in the crisper.  I'll add my radish, carrots, tomatoes sprinkled with Parmigiano Peggiano!

My homemade garlic bread to go under the broiler for a little toasting.

Red wine ....  

Oh and I had someone coming around holding a bucket..  I couldn't resist.  We all have cameras here in this part of the country.  Everyone in my area was watching him.  I had to say, that the bucket might be for liberal tears.  Yes, I'm having a damn good time here in Florida!   God Bless Freedom!

What A Nice Morning!

This morning I had a furry friend visit and her owner.  That was nice having coffee with some Polish cookies she brought.  The memories started flowing back to me!

After my company left I made homemade croissants.   We enjoyed them this afternoon while listening to "In The Litter Box"

A Gorgeous Sunday!

 My morning, on our property.  Lots of Gods gifts!

This guy came out as I was walking on the veranda!  Drying its wings now.  He came on my finger, he was happy, I placed him on a bloom of one of the milkweeds.  He was hungry!  "He" ? no!  I don't know what the sex of a butterfly is.  I don't give two shits about skin color either!  I don't really care!  It's pretty!

As I sat in the shade of the Carolina Jasmin, that I planted two years ago.   Sipping on coffee enjoying the fragrant air.

Watered all the garden area, early this morning.  Enjoying the view from our pergola my husband and I put up.  My idea of course.  This place was too darn empty!  Now, I am enjoying everything I added.  Never really finished you know.

I put this pallet to good use.

Bird of Paradise given to me the first year here, from a very good neighbor near by.  That is Florida folks for you!  Very giving and friendly.  My desert rose in the pot was from our realtor.  It is coming back after hibernating in the carriage house for a month, along with another potted tree I have, that hates the cold.  "Below 50".

I'm growing ice cream banana's.  These little guys got repotted into larger pots, that I had laying around.  They grow pretty fast!

Yes, I do need to put that hose away.  81 today and the sprinkler system will be going off tonight.  Plus we will be getting rain on Monday?  We shall see.  We didn't get any yesterday and were supposed to.  Things were wet though this morning.  Hmmm?

The view from the pergola and the garden area...  Everything is planted now hardening off in the raised beds.  All from natural seed.  I also collect my own seed.  No thank you, to that shit GMO crap!

I plan to extend the garden area another 60ft. or so.  Back row of corn and then the watermelon, cantaloupe and pumpkin.  Those will be put right into the ground with nutrients needed.

Another place to sit is, the butterfly garden.  Still needs some maintenance with feeding, adding soil...  However, what a fantastic and calm place to give praise to the Lord!

Cooking For A Dinner Party.

Manicotti and Tiramisu for desert.  

Cooking up a storm today all from scratch, even the lady finger cake for the tiramisu.  All that I need to do is make my french bread and salads.   I nice red wine, I'm all set for tomorrow!

This morning when making the tiramisu, it needs at least 24 hours in the fridge, so it was made first!  I have plenty room for my platters.  Even room for the salad plates to chill!  ... anyway what made my day was this, Nikki lost against herself?  BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA....  Well that made my day!

It's Nice To Know Your Neighbors.

Another fantastic time was had by all!  We celebrated Ground Hogs Day!  That was a very good reason to have a party.  Also to have people on the same page!  Very important nowadays!  Yes, I scoped the area really well before we moved here.

The best thing is we all come together as one!  I counted 23 of us.  Not bad!  The movie Ground Hog Day, was played in the background in the movie room.  Plenty of snacks and food was displayed, through out the rooms.  

You know the glass is not half full.  It's full with, half liquid and half air.

We had trivia, and games, along with snacking.  I got a prize!  A watermelon bag!  

The conversations were interesting with everyone.  Being alert and aware, of the current situation in our country.  We all look out for each other.  We do have a communication station in place and many of us are growing food.  I can't believe all the tomatoes, I have, carrots and garlic...  I could go on.  Some are just starting their crop.  Some were surprised my late September start, made it through the cold, without covering.  Cold crops did the best.  Frankly, I'm surprised with the tomatoes doing so well!  This year, I will start a bit sooner in August, for that second crop.  As I pick I'll also reseed and collect more seed.  

It's like we have found, new family here!  We feel blessed and very lucky!    

The next party will be my garden party.  That should be another fun time.  We all enjoy new comers and they are well vetted, first!  I vetted a couple that will be moving in soon to their new home.  Saw them surveying the land to build a year ago.  They were also vetting me!  LOL   They are equally happy, that this sort of gathering, is happening in our area, with good, God loving, conservative, people.   

Being on line is one thing, but do you have this kind of security, where you live?  I hope you will and do the same!
