Tribute to Vietnam Vets Part 2

Our Soldiers!

This is for our soldiers that are serving our country no mater what Lurch and others out there said!

I heard a rumor that they will be selling white poppy’s right next to the red poppy stand! The white poppy’s are for peace anti war idiots! Oh yeah you bet I’ll make a big deal if I see this! It will be my protest! I will fight for my rights and my freedom!

Soldiers are murdering rapists according to John Kerry
Here is a letter written by an Iraq Soldier and His wife is sending it out:
This was written by my husband, Aaron, who is currently deployed to Iraq, in defense of a recent comment made by Senator John Kerry. Pass it along; it might inspire someone else to speak up! ~ Michelle}Yesterday John Kerry said, "You know education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well, and if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq"So I wrote him a letter:

I am a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. I am currently on my second tour in Iraq, a tour for which I volunteered. I speak Arabic and Spanish and I plan to tackle Persian Farsi soon. I have a Bachelor's and an Associate's degree and between deployments I am pursuing an M.B.A. In college I was a member of several academic honor societies, including the Golden Key Honor Society. I am not unique among the enlisted troops. Many of my enlisted colleagues include lawyers, teachers, mechanics, engineers, musicians and artists, just to name a few. You say that your comments were directed towards the President and not us. If we were stupid, Senator Kerry, we might have believed you.I am not a victim of President Bush. I proudly serve him because he is my Commander and Chief. If it was you who was President, I would serve you just as faithfully. I serve America, Senator Kerry, and I am also providing a service to the good people of Iraq. I have not terrorized them in the middle of the night, raped them or murdered them as you have accused me of before. I am doing my part to help them rebuild. My role is a simple one, but important. You see Senator Kerry, like it or not, we came here and removed a tyrant (who terrorized Iraqis in the middle of the night, and raped them and murdered them). And we have a responsibility to see to it that another one doesn't take his place. The people of Iraq are recovering from an abusive relationship with a terrible government and it's going to take some time to help them recover from that. We can't treat this conflict like a microwave dinner and throw a temper tantrum because we feel like it's taking too long.Senator Kerry, you don't have to agree with this war. You don't have to say nice things about those of us who choose to make sacrifices for the rights of every American rather than sit back and simply feel entitled to it. But please, Senator Kerry, if you're going to call me a stupid murdering rapist, stick by what you say. Don't tell me that I misunderstood or that you would never insult a veteran because you're one too. Having been there and done that does not give you a free pass to insult me.My suggestion for you, Senator Kerry, is to remember that your speeches are recorded, and broadcast to us simpletons over here. You may want to write down what you want to say before you say it, maybe have somebody look at it before you say it and tell you what others might hear. Remember that we can't read your mind, if there are any misinterpretations in what you say, it's because you didn't communicate clearly.Good luck to you, Senator Kerry, if nothing else, it's always entertaining to watch you try and climb out of the holes that you constantly dig for yourself.Sincerely,Somebody who is watching his daughter grow up in photographs so that you can have the right to say whatever you want about him.

I appreciate people like you Mike H.!

I am honored to have you as a friend!

I am very honored, to have met you in person!

I am honored that you are the first one to comment on this important day!

This is the greatest honor to protect our country and an honor for me to thank you!

I am honored to be able to acknowledge you and others that fought for our country!

There is no honor in people that don’t understand it! And never will!

Know that I am aware and am very grateful.

You are the one that's impressive Mike H. as well as others out there that have and are serving our country!

Wow Mike I didn't realize,
- my thanks as well even though I know our guys weren't there on that one. Also like to say, that since I've met our little band of 'war mongers' {yeah!} I have learned the truths and facts behinds a lot of lies that I had been sold by LSM over the years, about Vietnam. Thanks for that as well.

I offer my sincere appreciation of this dedication and beautifully expressive post dcat.
Lest We Forget.

Bravo to you both and to all who are not abandoning the truth.

From what I have heard, the white poppy was first worn in England by the widows/families of those who had lost their lives during WWI. I understand they were worn for military parades, memorials and dedications and such events They would wear the red for the WWII dead and white for WWI, signifying they personally had lost a loved one and or family member in WWI.
Daughters wore them in honor of fathers they had never met.

Any one who steals the 'white poppy' as an 'anti-war' emblem need to be dealt with harshly, they are traitors spitting on the graves of vets of both WW wars.
{What i'd personally like to do with them can't be spoken here, nor is it appropriate today, so I won't.}

I did observed two minutes of quite reflection to honor the memory of all our fallen and vets today.

Godspeed good people, and keep shinning the light on the truth. Those who seek the truth will notice, I did.

I no longer wait to thank our soldiers on this day. It's a total waste of time for the rest of the year to let them go unnoticed.

Whenever, I see veteran license plates on cars and it's possible to do so, I thank them. The man who parked his car next to mine at the apartments where I live, was an Air Force Veteran of VietNam. We nodded to one another now and then, but I didn't ask him about the Purple Heart license plate on his car. He died a month or so after moving in. So, I don't wait for this single day.

Last summer, at a free concert of the old rock group The Turtles, from the stage, Flo and Eddie asked all the VietNam Vets to stand and then the Vets of other wars to stand. They led the crowd in a loud round of cheers and appluase. Many of these men and women were visually moved to tears. One 'Nam vet near me said to his friend he'd never been thanked for his service til that moment.

To Mike.H, Old Soldier, Lydia, Flomblog, Marine Dad, Alex up in Canada, the men and women who illegally cross our borders to serve in the US Miltary to fight for right and justice (and maybe some college money, citizenship, and a better life) because their armies are too busy killing their own citizens ,and all those who served, but don't bandy it about, I say THANK YOU everyday I wake up in freedom.

BTW, my mother read the whole thing and then sent your link on to a friend that served with my father in Korea in VMF-214 (the Black Sheep squadron). They were operating off of the Sicily, a Jeep Carrier (Jeep Carriers (CVE's) were smaller carriers in WWII that used to ferry aircraft to the larger attack carriers (CVA's). In Korea they took over the job of the attack carriers along the coast of Korea.)

Thank you Leap, Indigo, all I did was float around on a destroyer and I didn't even get to shoot the big guns. In fact they wouldn't let me near any of the guns. They didn't have any guts. :D

Wow, the turing word is vetaycom.
