Islam And The War On Terror
excerpt:
[A well known Muslim leader in the United States was in Colorado Springs Tuesday night trying to bridge gaps of religion and politics, especially in how we look at the war in Iraq.
Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is the founder and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy. He addressed about hundred people at the Broadmoor Tuesday night.
He says in his opinion the war on terror has been misnamed, we are not fighting terrorism, terrorismis just a tactic, we are fighting against political Islam.
Dr. Jasser believes American Muslims need to lead the way in fighting the war in Iraq.
"We need to reform Islamic mind set and separate religion and politics," Jassar said.
And separating church and state issomething he's dedicated his life to.
So in 2003, he started the American Islamic forum for Democracy, which seeks to address the ideological conflict in the war on terror. Jassar says we need to use history to move forward in this new battle.
"Just like the Japanese stepped up and fought with America against the Japanese dictatorship in WWII, Muslim Americans need to start stepping up and saying we need to fight globally and name terrorist organizations by name," Jassar said.
Jasser says he's confident change will come, but it will take time.
"This conflict is going to last for generations, into the 21st century, it's not going to be resolved in one election cycle," He said.]

Like I said before...
The muslims in this country are not working hard enough to prove themselves worthy!
he smiles. you know, you may be right. but even in that there is a silver lining. there is one group even worse. they work their arse off to prove how worthless they truely be. and they prove it day in and out. can you guess who i am speaking of?
hint: their leader's initials are HC
it took about 1400 years to get this way - i have to wonder how many eons it will take to get them up to speed?
SHOW ME THE MODERATE IZZIE!
okay, now, you can forward my fatwaback and greens...
Of course the war will take a long time. There are hundreds of millions of mohamaddans and not nearly enough bullets.
Give me a clue Griper ;)
Nance I bet you can get one at MAS. Haven't they been bugging you too?
I am amazed they aren't here yet.

Nance,
I am not on that much but I will get around to adding you as well.
Just let me know when ya need help and I will try and make it over every so often. I tend to write the trolls off though. They like to waste time on nothing.
indigo,
"Of course the war will take a long time. There are hundreds of millions of mohamaddans and not nearly enough bullets."
don't fall into that liberal trap of the need to kill them all. you don't need to kill them all, only enough to make the rest think twice about it before engaging in it. that is how every war is won.
Griper!
Ok and the few that are left if I have to go through this bullshit again I am coming after you! :D
he grins at dcat, yes ma'am.
wars are not won or lost, dcat, by total annihilation of the enemy. no war is or ever was fought on that premise. they are only fought until one side or the other sees the futility of the continued fight. that is the concept behind surrender.
in the case of the war on terror we need to continue the fight against it until the enemy sees the futility of using terror as a means to convert others to Islam. and that is a conclusion that they must come to on their own. it is not a negotiable issue as the libs would have us believe.
you and I are not in disagreement in regards to the waging of this war. if there be any disagreement it would only be in regards to what it would take to win it. and even there we may not be in disagreement because it may take the way you say to win. if so, so be it as far as i'm concerned.
I'm glad we are on that same page Griper :)
Otherwise... ;)
i only have one troll and she's been kept in check lately - she's on a par with the one called "mr. ducky" and every bit as arrogant, but she can be disarmed, something i'm astute at.
i know this is war, dcat and i'm in it for the longhaul. you have an ally in me.
:D trolls are usually disarmed soon as they show up here.
Good to know you care and are a survivalist!
I went to a screening of Islam vs. Islamists in LA, and Jasser did a Q & A, afterward.
He is everything you would want in an American Muslim. Deeply pro-American, pro-democracy, and a strong believer in separation of Mosque and State. He sees imams as having no business preaching about America's foreign policy and politics in general.
If Islam is to catch up to the rest of the modern world, it should heed Jasser's example.
For his outspokenness, btw, he and his family have been threatened by the Islamist nutjobs.
Yeah it figures wordsmith!
They need to get past that threat! I would like to see more of the true Americans come out of their shells!
I figured as much with the threats and all. And now is the time for more to come forward. Get restraining orders and stay away from their mosque and pray at home. Better yet bug the mosque.
Our agency should be on this sort of thing!
If they are in the USA I don’t see why they need to feel afraid! Report all threats and neighbors should be willing to fight to take those clowns down real fast!
My neighborhood block watch is real good we caught someone doing property damage. It didn’t even know it was being watched. “I call all thugs it things and other nasty things as you well already know!”
Tell em to put up Cameras… lots of them in the neighborhood. Record and report any threats what so ever.
As Americans we need to keep the folks like Ayaan safe! As well as taking our neighborhoods back from possible attacks! Be ready and work together to take on the nutjobs!
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/018262.php#c455469 Zuhdi Jasser may be a splendid fellow. On the other hand, he has claimed in the past that there are "7 milliion Muslims in America" which is just the sort of claim made by CAIR, exaggerating the numbers by a factor of three, to make it seem that Islam is on the march, and must be appeased. He uses the terms favored by Muslims when they describe the "occupied territories" rather than the territories possessed by Israel, and to which it has a considerable -- overwhelming, in fact -- legal, historic, and moral title. Perhaps Zuhdi Jasser has not gone into this; the very last thing for a Muslim "reformer" to let go of is that deeply-ingrained inability to see that Jews and other non-Muslims might, in the Middle East, have a claim to a land of their own, and not to exist merely as dhimmis subservient, within a Muslim state, or in a dhimmi-state that exists not by right but on Muslim sufferance (which is what the "moderates" may have in mind -- and remember that just as "protected peoples" could lose their protection overnight, and be subject to massacres, so too would a "dhimmi-state" of Israel reduced still further, and its vulnerability increased beyond the endurance of its permanently besieged, if astoundingly brave, citizens).
A few years ago, to great fanfare and self-promoting publicity, Jasser organized a "march" in Phoenix against "terrorism" which attracted a few hundred people, of whom all but 50-100 were non-Muslims. He has made a name for himself and, I suspect, also a living, or a handsome addition to his living.
It would require a good deal more for me to let down my guard and wholeheartedly approve the likes of Zuhdi Jasser. He's no Wafa Sultan or Ibn Warraq or Ayaan Hirsi Ali. I don't think one needs to accept substitutes.
CAIR is a trouble maker we know this.
I see you are from Chelsea New York anon.

Yeah and my proxy is out of state too right now. Depending on what computer I am on ;)
